Devlog - Basic Update


Hello! Since the end of the voting period for the 1-bit jam I decided to update the game to fix some issues I had with the early build for the game. First I wanted to add to my seeds in the store a hovering effect when you went over them with the mouse, because I wanted to make more clear to the player that they were buying that specific seed. This ended up causing a new issue that I have no idea how to fix, due to the fact that if you buy/click on any seed, the hover effect deactivates and only turns back on if you buy/clicks on other seeds. It's not a big issue, but it bothers me. 

Next thing I added was a better explainer booklet, where you can look what each flower does. Now it plays a little animation and you can press forward or backward on your explanation. This makes it much better looking then the original with just static images. Here is an example of the animation (every flower has it's own):


The next one was just a basic animation that plays when you plant a flower, like a dirt effect. I really wanted to put this on the early game but I had no idea how. I'll be real and say that i don't really love it.


I also added new flowers that I couldn't add to the game earlier, I had made them in the early game and even had their coding working, but due to the balancing issues they wouldn't work in the game. 

I have balanced the game so the new flowers work nicely, before it was quite hard and by phase 4/5 you could barely play the game, the new version is fully playable and very fun on the harder, latter stages.

The game now feels like much more of a game, it still needs some tweaks, some things I wanted to add like a indicator for the next phase value and etc, but for now this feels like a improvement.
